Publishing and collecting applications

Opening the event on a public address, the application window, capacity and the reasons it may be closed.

The Publishing tab is where you open the event to the outside world. An unpublished event has no application page.

Public address

The event's public address is a slug: lowercase letters, digits and hyphens only, at least 3 characters. A suggestion is derived from the title, but nothing is published until you save.

Publication & Applications

Publish the event on sureasy.app and collect applications from outside.

The address is stable

Printed posters and QR codes point at this address. Do not change it after publishing — the old address stops working and anyone scanning the code reaches nothing.

Application window

  1. 1
Enter the application opening and closing dates.
  2. 2
The closing date must be after the opening date.
  3. 3
Leaving one empty makes that end unbounded.

Editing the application form

With the Applications module on, the Edit form link in the Publishing tab opens the form designer. You can add and reorder fields and define options and conditions; the name, e-mail, phone and privacy notice fields cannot be removed.

  1. 1
Pick a field type and press Add field; the key is derived as you type the label.
  2. 2
Bind a legal text to consent fields; if the text is not published, publishing stops with Missing legal text.
  3. 3
Confirm with Publish new version. Every publish opens a new version; existing applications stay bound to the old one.

A published field never changes

The key and type of a published field are locked: answers of earlier applications hang off that key. You may edit the label and description; to change the type, add a new field. Translations of unchanged fields are carried into the new version.

Capacity

Who is counted

Capacity counts contestants only. Jurors, mentors and organisers are not deducted from it — otherwise the event would look full far too early.

Featured

Being featured on the sureasy.app showcase is an editorial decision and cannot be set from the panel. Publishing and being featured are different things.

Why do applications look closed?

Not published
The event is not public yet.
Archived
The event has been archived.
Not in your plan
Your plan does not include public registration. Existing applications stay visible; only new ones are refused.
No form
The application form has not been created — add the Applications module. If your privacy notice is not published yet, publish it first under Settings → Legal texts.
Not started
The opening date has not arrived.
Closed
The closing date has passed.
Full
The contestant capacity is full.

Note

If your privacy notice is not published, the application form is not rendered at all. Showing a consent checkbox without its text would mean people approving something they never read.
