Surveys

Editing the pre- and post-event surveys, adding questions, participation mode and sharing results.

Every event has exactly two surveys: pre-event and post-event. Neither can be deleted, and no third one can be added.

When the surveys open

  1. 1
While the event is a Draft, both surveys are closed.
  2. 2
Moving it to Active opens the pre-event survey.
  3. 3
Moving it to Completed closes the pre-event one and opens the post-event one.
  4. 4
Archiving closes both and also turns off result sharing.

Note

These transitions are automatic; you can still open and close surveys manually.

Adding questions

  1. 1
Open the survey's question list with Edit questions.
  2. 2
Import ready-made questions from the Question Bank. To write a new question, go to the Question Bank page; questions are not written on this screen.
  3. 3
Reorder questions with the up/down arrow buttons.

The survey freezes after the first response

Once the first response arrives you can no longer add, remove or reorder questions, and required flags, question and option texts can no longer change. Finalize the structure before responses come in.

A question can be attached to both surveys. The before/after comparison rests exactly on that: the same question row is asked at both times.

Required questions and skipping

The Skip button appears only when two settings agree: skipping must be allowed at survey level and the question must not be required.

Caution

If only the survey setting were checked, a required question would look skippable and the error would surface at the very end of the survey — as a generic warning that does not say which question it refers to.

Participation mode

Anonymous
No identity is collected; only repeat submissions from the same device are prevented.
Phone
A phone number is requested and uniqueness is built on it.
Identified
The response is matched to a person on the participant list.

Do not change it once responses exist

Changing the participation mode after responses have arrived changes what the earlier answers mean. The change is saved the moment you pick it and the panel does not warn you; settle this setting before responses come in.

Sharing results

The Share results switch on the survey card makes the results page public. Archiving the event turns this switch off as well.

Archived
The event has been archived.
Inactive

Not started
The survey's start date has not arrived.
Ended
The survey's end date has passed.
Full
The response limit has been reached.
