Joining a team

Join codes, the team link, and editing your project details.

In team-based events one person creates the team and the others join it with a code.

The join code

  1. 1
The person creating the team enters a team name during their application.
  2. 2
    They receive a join code.
  3. 3
They share that code with their teammates.

Your application has been received

You will be notified by e-mail once it is approved.

Your team join code

K7F2-9QXCopy

Your teammates enter this code on the application form to join your team.

The team code after applying: teammates join with this code.

Using the code in your application

When you apply, tick "I have a code, I am joining" and enter the code. Your application is attached to that team.

Caution

If the team is full the code is refused. The organiser sets the per-team member limit.

The team link

The organiser may send the team a dedicated link. From that page you edit the project name and summary. No account is needed; the address itself is the authorisation.

The link is a key

Share the link only with your teammates. Anyone who knows the address can edit the project.

If the link does not work

Expired, revoked and never-existed links all show the same screen. That is deliberate: otherwise trial and error would reveal which links exist. Ask the organiser for a new link.

Leader and members

The person who created the team is its leader. If the leader is removed, leadership passes to the longest-standing member; a team is never left without one.

Link lifetime

The team edit link is valid for 30 days; when it expires, ask the organizer for a new one. Once the event is archived, project details become read-only.
